tedshr3d, I found a large list of California clothing stores. I think someone in your city can help assist you. http://www.locateclothing.com/California-Clothing-Stores.html Just phone one of the California stores or drop by one day when you have some free time and try talking to someone who can help.Chique clothing hang out spots in southern california?
Urban Outfitters isn't very chic (correct spelling) nor creative, but I'm an old punk that had to work pretty hard at looking strange in the 80's.

Go to the Lab, supposedly the anti-mall, in Costa Mesa. It's filled with scene kids and lovely little trendy freaks. They've got shops (including an Urban Outfitters) and restaurants that you don't find on every street corner.

Since your clothing tastes run more mainstream alternative than Martian Church on 3rd St. in the East Village Arts District in Long Beach might or might not be something you would like.

Both web sites are below.
I don't think long beach has very many fashion forward places (at least i don't think) I know the pike defintely doesn't hha

try going to places around there like the other popular beach towns, they'd have good boutiques.
