Moisturize moisturize moisturize. That's what my dermatologist told me to do for mine.
For the more stubborn dark areas he perscribed me a fade and firm cream... kind of like a bleach but not as abrasive. It's been about 2 months and I'm really seeing improvements.
there's a nice safe (no hydroquinone or mercury) and potent (not commercial grade) skin lightening cream specially for dark underarms, knees , elbows, groin, etc.. i've used it and it really works..
