Why are there dark spots on my knee's after i've fake tanned?

I use Le Tan 'Fast Tan' with a sponge on the end in bronze. On the back its says streaking and mess isn't meant to occur but it has! :(Why are there dark spots on my knee's after i've fake tanned?
I agree with everyone else. You must exfoliate before fake tanning, and go easy on the knees and elbows. Why are there dark spots on my knee's after i've fake tanned?
first of all, in the shower you need to shave, then exfoliate with an exfoliating glove. then dry yourself %26amp; wait 10 minutes so your pores aren't completely open, because the steam from your shower opens your pores more. then moisturize, then use the fake tan evenly, avoiding the knees %26amp; elbows, ankles, etc as they take more than other places. then once you've finished, wash your hands thoroughly, and in a few hours your tan will appear:)

don't worry if you don't get it right the first few times, coz practise makes perfect

xo
use an exfoliant before you fake tan, it could be that you may have just gotten a bit more of the product on that area than anywhere else, which tends to happen on the knees and ankles because it is a little bit of an awkward spot to apply, and when you move etc it will adjust etc..

maybe try using a gradual tanning lotion instead.. it could be safer..
whenever you use fake tan, you need to make sure that you have exfoliated properly. if you don't there may be patches of dry skin that cannot absorb the fake tan properly, so it ends up patchy.
I have exactly the same product...it gives a pretty nice colour but I exfoliated first so I didnt get the dark knees...I got dark toes and ankles instead...lol......

Those areas are drier skin so they absorb more cream...I havent figured out how to lighten dark blothcy bits yet...maybe someone else knows.

Next time exfoliate with one of those gloves or a loofah first.
No matter what the back says you always need to exfoliate first, particularly knees, elbows, feet and hands
