How to prevent shaving spots?

Im more or less 16 and have some facial hair. I think it looks stupid on me at the moment and shave it, but get shaving spots. I have used after cream and after shave but they still come back and they sting. Some of the spots are big and red but most are spread out little whiteheads across the sides of my face. Best way to prevent/get rid of them? How to prevent shaving spots?
It is all about shaving it the right direction.

Neck shave up and face shave down.

Let these spots settle for a bit and do not panic soon they will be gone.

They sting and become inflamed as you are simply shaving in the wrong direction. Just leave them and they will soon settle down as long as you do leave them alone.

Good luck and eventually you will discover how your skin and face works as we are all different. How to prevent shaving spots?
The reason you get shaving spots is because hairs are getting trapped in the follicles underneath the skin, which in turn get infected and cause unsightly spots.

Idealy, you need to exfoliate before you shave. This will help to slough away the dead skin and help the hairs break through and out alot easier.

Use something like a cream based exfoliator, as sugar %26amp; salt based ones are far too abrasive for the face!

I would also recommend some form of razor relief after shaving; something containing aloe vera preferably, as this soothes, cools and calms iritated skin.

Exfoliating REALLY is the key here. Keep up with that and you'll notice an improvement in your skin.

xx
erm well try treating th spots with this cream which is sold in al pharmaceys and is a lil exspensive but it lasts 4 yonks so it is well worth it

then u wnt have 2 worry about them
OK when u shave all of your facial hair and then comes the next time to shave, shave down instead of up, to not get the spots. also try using face lotion SPF20 by, Neutrogena. it soothes the razor irritation, and heals dry skin.

Good Luck!
I know you're going to hate this answer, but theres a product for woman called bikini zone, for shaving bumps down south and it works wonders, I dont see why it wouldnt work on your face, obviously its made for sensitive areas!
Sounds like you're using a cheap razor too many times. Get a QUALITY razor, not disposables, and make sure you MASSAGE the foam info a WET face. Do not just slap it on and shave it off.

Afterwards, moisturise, and use a face scrub.
i would too love to know the answer to this becuase it does my nut in and i only have it down one side of my face :(
you skin is just sensitive it will get used to it eventually but moisturise and use a face scrub befoore shaving to raise the hairs
Try using a 4 blade razor and womens razors seem to work better, my ex husband would use mine and only use his if I ran out because they didn't hurt his face as bad.
original source shaving gel
Dont shave.

No seriously, be a Man
cheap razors do it to you
