How can I reduce spots?

Lately I've been starting to get more spots than usual.

How do I reduce them?

I'd like to know what products and stuff you use :)

I have pretty sensitive skin, I've tried a few brands that just made my skin a little rashy.

How can I reduce spots?
There is advice on this website for spotitis.

http://www.iansanswers.co.uk

How can I reduce spots?
Freederm worked for me to.

It is a miracle worker and is great as it doesn't irritate sensitive skin, the only down side is that it is quite expensive at around 拢8 a time, but it is available at most pharmacies and chemists such as Boots and Superdrug and also available at some big supermarkets.

When applying to skin you only need about a pea size on your finger and spread evenly over the skin then wipe away any excess with a cotton pad, it is as easy as that.
How to Reduce Age Spots?

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You鈥檒l Need:

Sunscreen Suntan Lotion

Fade cream

Step1:

Prevent them from getting worse by using a sunscreen when you go out, paying particular attention to your face and hands. Make sure you choose a sunscreen that blocks UVA and UVB rays and has an SPF of at least 15. Age spots are caused by a lifetime of exposure to the sun, so you can stop them from getting worse by covering up.

Step2:

Wear a long-sleeved shirt and wide-brimmed hat when you know you'll be in the sun.

Step3:

Use an alpha-hydroxy cleanser and lotion on areas of the skin that have age spots. It helps to fade them.

Step4:

Apply a fade cream like Esoterica or Ambi to the skin at night. They help to restore skin to a uniform color. The prescription medication Retin-A works like a fade cream on age spots.

Step5:

Have a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon remove them with a laser if nothing else works

Tips %26amp; Warnings:

If you have any questions or concerns, contact a physician or other health care professional before engaging in any activity related to health and diet. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

OTHER ANSWERS:

Laser treatement by a dermatologist is the fastest way to get rid of these spots but don't waste your money on it if you are unwilling to wear sunblock every day on your face and hands afterward. (You'll just get new spots.) A cheaper way to get rid of them, albeit slower, is to use a fading cream. Currently the best cream to get rid of age spots is Tri-Luma, which is available in a generic version to save money. This cream contains 4% hydroquinone (you can only get 2% strength without a prescription), plus Retin-A (generic name is tretinoin) and a steroid to reduce the harsh effects of the Retin A (redness, peeling.) I wouldn't waste my money on any store or internet product. As for the UK banning hydroquinone, there's nothing to be alarmed at with this ingredient. The only ill effects known to have occured have been with high doses to which people were exposed in industrial setti

Liver spots are brownish, yellowish blemishes which are often first noticed on the arms and hands, then the face. They can also appear on the chest, back, and less frequently, the legs and torso.

Liver spots are a result of the skin trying to protect itself from sun exposure by producing an overabundance of melanin, the pigment in your skin. However, it's worth being aware that they can be brought on or increased by bad health, or problems with the liver functions.

The best product I have found is the Benefit Boo Boo Zap spot treatment. This works really fast to get rid of your spots and blackheads. After using the Benefit Boo Boo Zap you will find your spots get better within a couple of days. Lots of celebs also use this and recommend it in mags etc so it must be good! You can pick it up for less than 拢10 from various websites including http://www.beautyparlor.co.uk

I used have a problem with spots, every product I tried nothing seemed to work. But then I saw an advert on the TV for freederm. I went to my local chemist and bought some for about 8 pounds. And it worked for me, and it is specially developed for sensitive skin.
what kind of spots are you talking about? if you're referring to sun damage AVON has a great product for lightening those spots, you would use it daily, it's a lotion. and to help not get anymore, always use a sunscreen even in the winter before going outside always
Clearasil for sensitive skin with the granules in it as this will exfoliate your skin. Drink lots of water, avoid oily make up and cleaners etc. Remove you makeup properly before bed. Eat lots of fresh fruit and veg

Does putting toothpaste on spots at night before you go to bed really get rid of them or not?

I was reading on a website on how to get rid of spots and they said to put toothpaste on them before going to bed.

Is that true or not? o_oDoes putting toothpaste on spots at night before you go to bed really get rid of them or not?
No.Does putting toothpaste on spots at night before you go to bed really get rid of them or not?
It's suppose to dry them, but it depends on your tipe of skin..is it oily, or dry..and it depends on how old and how big and what kind of spot/pimple it is.

Toothpaste, baking soda etcs should help, but if you do want faster results, than you should use OXY 5 or OXY 10, depending on how many spots/pimples you have.

good luck
What kind of spots? Like freckles? You need to be a little more specific...sorry.

Maybe it does help, but maybe it just makes a really big mess. Who knows?

-GO AMUTO-
I'd have to say no. But I have not tried it myself so why don't you go and try it and let us know if it does or not.
it dries them up, and then that makes them heel after theyre dried. so it helps get rid of them.
that and baking soda, but it takes more then a day to see results.

When I sew, the bottom thread is bunched up in spots even though the top looks okay. What am I doing wrong?

You're either misthreading or not starting the seam correctly. Try the 10 minute fix... it'll catch both problems:

The 10 minute fix for most of what ails most sewing machines:

-- Dig out the manual. Take all the thread out of/off of the

machine. Pull the needleplate and the bobbin case if it's

removeable. Clean and oil per the manual's recommendation. Use a

brush and vacuum, not compressed air (which blows lint in

farther), and real sewing machine oil, not 3-in-1 type oil (it

hardens and freezes the machine) nor WD-40 type stuff (it's a

solvent, not a lubricant).

-- Put in a new needle of the correct point style for the fabric

you're sewing (ballpoint for knits, sharps for wovens) and the

right size for the thickness of fabric (10/70 for shirting weight

fabrics, 12/80 for heavy shirtings or light pantsweight. 14/90

for medium to heavy pantsweight, 16/100 for very heavy fabrics.

Make sure the needle is in right way around -- a needle in

backwards will skip stitches or not stitch at all.

-- Rethread, with manual in hand. Make sure the presser foot is

UP when you thread the top -- it opens the top tension so that

the thread actually gets in between the tension disk (loops on

the bottom, not enough tension on top).

-- Fetch up the bobbin thread. You need about a 4'; tail of thread

top and bottom. Run both threads under the presser foot and

behind it.

-- If you've been playing with the top tension, set it to 4. If

you've been playing with the bobbin tension, let me know and

we'll try to rebalance it, but you're likely to have to take it

into the shop.

Now, each and every time you start to sew a seam, this is how you

do it:

1) Place the fabric under the needle, and use the handwheel to

lower the needle into the fabric (be sure to turn it the right

way... seee the manual).

2) Drop the presser foot.

3) Hold the thread tails behind the presser foot with your left

hand.

4) Take a couple of stitches

5) Drop the thread tails and sew normally.

For pimples and spots on face here are a few solutions that can help...

- Splash your face with cold water at least 4 to 5 times in a day

- Wash your face at least twice a day with a gentle moisturiser

- Don't stop using a moisturiser just cos you have oily skin. Switch to a oil free one that will moisturise without giving you a greasy look. Look at options like Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil lotion, Kaya or Neutrogena

- Try a mixture of milk powder, a lil honey, a pinch of turmeric and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply and wash off after 15 minutes. Will help give a good glow.

- Even raw, unboiled milk applied first thing in the day will help lighten spots...

- Follow a procedure of cleansing, toning and moisturising. Use a alcohol free toner.

- Use a gentle scrub twice a week. A tea tree oil solution like the one from Body Shop will help control the spots and the marks they leave

- For a lasting solution you can invest in gentle peels. Visit a good skin doc or a reputed skin clinic likc Kaya where the dermatalogist will analyse your skin and recommend solutions suited for your skin. In fact for the summer they have a solution called Acne Free .. which should suit you...
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.

You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.

Well good luck and best wishes.
I've been using Dial Gold Antibacterial hand soap (liquid) for about a week now and there's a HUGE change. Everyone at my work has complemented how clear my face has gotten. It does tend to dry out spots on my face especially my chin so I've been using a facial moisturizer for that. I use twice daily when I wake up and before bed. Using it anymore than that could cause your acne to become worse because you'll be getting rid of all the good and bad natural oils.
try reducing or stopping ur intake of oily stuff and sweets...sometimes they cause acne with some people.

u can mash about 200 grams of papaya, mix it with 2 spoons of honey and apply it everyday on ur face for an hour and wash off with cool water.

drinks lots of water to flush out toxins...make sure ur daily motions are good and regular.

also u can squeeze half a lemon, mix with honey and apply for 15 minutes and wash off with water.

and then u can also try mixing a large spoon of honey with two good pinches of cinnamon powder and apply it over night.

good facewashes like garnier that work against acneand recurrence really work....try johnson and johnsons' clean and clear...worked wonders with me.

good luck.
I use AcneFree and it works sooooo wellll!

When I run out I usually just use toothpaste on single pimples, and wash my whole face with a fragrance free regular soap. Facial cleaning soap dries out my face for some reason.

Also, make sure your hair is up off of your face. If you have bangs or things like that, the grease and sweat from your hair gets all over your face.

The first week I ever pulled my hair up off of my face, most of my acne started to clear up by itself.

Don't touch your face either. Try to use toilet paper or those Oil pads you can buy at the drugstore. Especially in places like the crooks of your nose, chin, and forehead.
Mix sandalwood paste with rose water and Fuller's earth (it is a clay) and apply it on the face. Keep it for 15 minutes and wash it off with warm water followed by cold water. This natural remedy is effective for pimples and spots .More on natural skin care at http://healthbeautytips.net/Skincare.htm
Dont use any thingonly home remedies if you are a teenage.

srub papaya or lemon juice on the face and after 5 minutes clean with a cotton.Do steeming and add in the water 5 spoons of lemon juice.

Before u go to bed appy himalaya pimple and acne cream and was it in the morning with warm water. Please give me 10 points...

M ITALIA W TAMIL NADU
I went on birthcontrol and drank A LOT of water, and washed with hot water and soap before bed, and I look waaaaaaaaaaay better.

Try it maybe....Well. not the b/c part.

Haha.

Water, Good diet

oKAY, what I found out about pro-active and this over product that just as bad is that you constintly need to use it, and that when you first use it you break-out like crazy...Plus there are all types of skin, and anyone might be sensitive to those products.
Use some pure lemon juice! I swear it works! Wash face with warm water and soap, rinse, than apply some lemon juice to your face with a washrag. It not toxic to the environment, and works great. Unless your allergic to lemons!
my suggestion would be go for Natural remediess.

pimples are due deficiency in cells so do not go for the retinol content which most creams have.

go for equal quantities of lemon and honey leave for 20 min..and see the results
plain old bar soap and just scrub the nightmare out of your face everytime you shower. i haven't had a large pimple in years with that method. but if your between the ages of 14 to 20.... there's no way, your just stuck with bad skin until you get older.
using the orange dial soap works just use it before bed and don't leave it on to long it may dry out your skin and to get rid of blemishes you can buy cremes
Drink loads of water and use a face wash daily.

Neutrogena and Clean %26amp; Clear products have been known to clear acne; only use Clearasil, etc. if you have SEVERE acne.
Don't eat spicy n sweet thing n don't just touch dem they might grow more n more on ur face n wash ur face without soap might help u n use only when it is require....
well,i too have lot of pimples and nowadays i am using clean n clear's acne clearing face wash n it working.
Use toothpaste, not the gel.
best thing would be going to a parlour and getting some advice ... some herbal treatments might help

  • How to clear spots for good?

i have red spots and once one goes another appears,

how can i get rid of these with home products?

i have used st. ives, all the names. How to clear spots for good?
they wont stop untill your hormones have stop messing about all these fancy products make me mad a good diet and loads of water is great and works

idiot below me toothpaste does not work just makes the spot dry and worserHow to clear spots for good?
I can't tell you this will make your acne disappear permanently, but I find using Alpha Hydrox foaming face wash for normal to oily skin very effective. Alpha Hydrox is also less expensive than most facial cleansers. I also rub Witch Hazel astringent on the blemishes themselves (I like Witch Hazel because it cleanses but doesn't make skin flaky or dry). I have a prescription topical gel, but I just recommend to stay away from Clean %26amp; Clear and stuff -- it does absolutely nothing for me, or ends up irritating my skin farther.

If you don't want to use Alpha Hydrox, use a non-oily acne facial cleanser and rinse well -- traces of soap left on face can cause acne. A better alternative is warm saltwater or warm water with baking soda -- although traces left on skin shouldn't cause acne, be sure to rinse thoroughly.

Lastly, keep your hair clean by showering frequently and rinsing thoroughly to insure shampoo is gone, and keep your hair out of your face -- gel it up, wear a bandanna (though that might look a little odd). Hair carries natural oils that can rub onto your face, causing acne.

As for home remedies, try vinegar, honey (a natural antibacterial), or baking soda mixed into a paste with tap water. For all of these, apply to affected areas and wait thirty minutes to an hour, then rinse well with cool water. Keep in mind playing with the acne too much causes irritation and can leave annoying scars.

    Good luck!
    1. Drink at least 2 litres of water a day (but don't go crazy because you can make yourself ill).

    2. Dab either toothpaste, tea tree oil or whatever on yout spots before bed to dry them up - whatever works best for yout skin type.

    3. Try to wear hardly any foundation, concealer or any other make-up on your skin because it will only clog them. If you absolutly have to , wear a treated product like almay and an oil free base.

    4. Get fresh air! Get outside and let your skin breath.

    5. Do a face mask every week. Choose one that best suits your skin type.

    6. Try to keep your hair off your face and don't be tempted to tounch your skin or pick your spots. It only spreads them.

%26amp;. Eat healthily and get plenty of sleep.

    9. Go to your GP and check you don;t have an intolerence to a type of food. I absolutly love cereal and couldnt stop eating and my skin was awful. Turned out I had an intolerence to wheat! Make sure you check!

    10. If you have a school holiday coming up, vow to yourself to do everything you can to clear up your skin. Trust me it works if you stick to it!

    Or use Clearasil
Try to exfoliate your face as often as you can and use hot water so as to open up your pores! That new freederm cream is apparently really good, maybe you could try that! ...ooh and toothpaste helps them to go down too! If none of this works, maybe you should visit a doctor and see if he can prescribe something!
One thing for sure.. stop using all these products! Trust me, they're rubbish and they just ruin your face. No doubt about it.

And try having a good diet.. 8 glasses of water a day, 5 fruits (yes 5!), and don't unnecessarily touch your face! It causes spots

When you wash your face only use water.. nothing else, like soap its not good for you!

    Good luck =) Hope I helped x
    its like whack-a-mole unfortunately .

there are always hormones balancing or unbalancing.

all you can do is eat well and clean regularly x

I have messed up eyebrows, there are like ';bald spots'; in them, how do i cover those up?

I got an eyeliner pencil in black but it was too dark.

my eyebrowns are strange, there are bald spots and i have pretty much no hair at the ends so it looks like i have half an eyebrow sometimes. i didnt over wax or pluck lol i was always like that,

so what would be the best way to get decent eye brows?I have messed up eyebrows, there are like ';bald spots'; in them, how do i cover those up?
Get an eyebrow pencil not eyeliner. And get one that matches your hair or brows as close as possible. It should work Works for meI have messed up eyebrows, there are like ';bald spots'; in them, how do i cover those up?
Try a different color pencil. I use ';Mink'; when my brows get outta control. It's just a shade of brown.
um.. pencil them..is all i can think of.

you can use a eyebrow pencil or a brown or charcoal colored eyeliner (use the PENCILS not the rolly pens) they're like a coloring pencil, anywho, use that for your bald spot. it should really blend in..and you might want to get water proof just in case something happens :)....i suggest west n wild.

    xx
You don't want to use an eyeliner pencil for eyebrows. You want to use an eyebrow pencil or a brow compact for that. Try to find one that matches the colour of your brows. They look best when applied with a brush for a look that mimics hair.

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>
buy an eyebrow pencil matching your hair color...or eye brow color.

it's super easy! just color over the bald spots. good luck
Try finding an eyeliner pencil that matches your hair, a good place for this is Bloomingdales b/c they have great assistance and a wide variety of colors.

I have spots, and my pores are HUGE ! i really need some help please ! :(?

I Use Clearisil Skin Pads, Toner, Moisturiser, And Exfoliate, And my skin is still covered in spots. :S are there any things i could do to get rid of them, like home remedies or anything ? HELP !I have spots, and my pores are HUGE ! i really need some help please ! :(?
This natural home remedy gives fast, amazing results. Safely and permanently reduces pores and rids face of spots by massaging using an essential oil - grape seed, almond, and cypress are excellent. They have been used by skin specialists to treat and cure acne. They do not clog, cause breakouts and they lessen skin's oil production . They feed skin many healing and health promoting essential nutrients (See happy response below from Answer's user). First tighten skin by tightening face muscles so that you will not be pulling or stressing skin. Use tips and front and sides of fingers depending where on face you massage. A circular motion will not work. Do over and over firmly. For quickest results do quite vigorously each day thoroughly for 10 to 15 min.(Doesn't have to be all in one session). Pores will greatly minimize in as little as 2 days. Skin is always shedding and renewing. Massage forces skin to shed more quickly and a new clearer skin to emerge. Thoroughly massage entire face and you will quickly have a smooth, radiant, tight, totally blemish free, healthy skin and you will not need to use any other product or treatment ever again - not even moisturizers. Oils are perfect natural moisturizers and are much better, much safer than any commercial one.

It has made a HUGE difference in my complexion after just one night .Thank you ever so much..this could be the solution to my all my skin problems. I'd messaged earlier asking about the pores on my face. They're very large and EVERYWHERE. I have a massive event coming up in a month. Could I do it twice daily to speed up the process? ';

SOURCE(S): 20+ years research/experimentation using only safe, natural treatments to permanently cure skin conditions..I have spots, and my pores are HUGE ! i really need some help please ! :(?
You may be stripping your skin and that is causing some of your problems.

Use products that contain gentle skin normalizing actives such as Ginger Root, Azelaic Acid, Licorice Root. These ingredients will cause the body to produce less oil, thus normalizing the skin's levels of natural oil without stripping the oil totally from the skin. You want some oil to help protect the skin. I will tell you it takes longer, probably 4 weeks of regular use of these oil normalizers to see a significant difference so don't get impatient.

Also Tea Tree is a great natural antibacterial for the skin.
    Oi!

RULE NUMBER ONE: DO NOT OVER USE ON CHEMICALS!

they make your skin greasy and spread more spots.

    especially the moisturizer and toner.

Clearasil is really harsh on skin (experience) so stick to ONE spot treatment if need be.

also going on the pill helps acne. but that's extreme.

    DRINK WATER

    eat fruits like oranges.

use ';quiniderm'; from Boots 拢2.00 it's AMAZING

i tried everything but that works.

    good luck x
i use to be the same..1st of all STOP using so many different products.. i tried for soo long to try and sort my skin out, finally its alot betta.. this probably isn't the answer you want, but eat alot of fruit and veg and at least 3 bottles of water a day.. weneva i eat anything unhealthy i end up having alot of spots..so just try and be healthy.. i use clearasil anti break out cream.. its in a medium sized tube and u put a lil bit on all of ur face once in the evening and once in the mornin..but afta mine dries on my face i moisturise with vaseline.. jst buy a small tin of it, put it on ur face and rub in ( not to much tho).. and jst wait until ur skin soaks it up.. i do this b4 i go to bed and in the mornings. i hope this works for you.. do it for about 5 days and c if you notice a change, also if ur skin isnt too sensitive or anything you could use the clearasil ' skin perfecting wash' .. i hope this works for you :) x
You might want to consider changing your face stuff. I've only heard bad things about Clearasil. Right now I use Neutrogena Deep Clean for Normal to Oily Skin, which I think is the absolute best! I HIGHLY reccomend it, just make sure you get a moisturizer (I would use Aveeno, their stuff is good). Hope I helped!
Your skin is a breathing organism. Limit make-up use as much as you can. Drinking water does wonders for skin! YOU CAN'T MAKE PORES SMALLER - YOU CAN ONLY MAKE THEM APPEAR SMALLER!

The best way to do this is...

    1) exfoliate 3 x's a week (GENTLY): this rids your skin of dirt and oil and sloughs off dead skin cells

    2) Cleanse face with gentle cleanser: Personally, I started using Cetaphil. It's not as harsh as so many of the other face washes and use this 2 x's a day (morning %26amp; night). Seriously, it works great.

    3) Moisturize: what happens when you wash your face is you strip it of it's natural oils which in turn will actually produce more oil! USE a gel moisturizer made for oily skin. It will control shine throughout the day.

    4) I started using a make-up primer. It fills in pores a little better than just applying makeup on your skin alone.

    5) Using APPLE CIDER VINEGAR + WATER is an excellent skin toner! I do this and love it! I do it everynight before bed and sometimes before I put my moisturizer on.

**When dirt and oil get in them they actually stretch which is not good. duh. Just try and keep your face clean by washing twice a day and not over doing it, get a good toner, exfoliate, and top with a primer! tada! The more you use your toner, the better.

ALOE VERA is truely awesome! It helps cure scars from pimples like a dream. I actually went out and bought an aloe plant that I use and I'll probably have it till the day I die!

    For pimples use: http://www.lorealparisusa.com/_us/_en/de鈥?/a>

I break out so bad when that time of the month comes around and it drives me nuts. I use L'Oreals kit once sometimes twice a week and it does really help. There are two kits. I bouth both, but you can find which ones looks better for you.

*ONE GOOD THING ABOUT BIG PORES IS THAT THEY PRODUCE MORE OIL WHICH UR SKIN USES TO FIGHT WRINKLES!
Clean your face with COLD water daily.

Then pat it dry with a towel.

Keep your hair away from your face.
good clean water, and a health low bad fat diet, keep cool

MAKE UP~LOLAsian, 21 yr old with freckles and age spots?
Stay out of the sun. The spots are more than likely sun damage. You can cover them with make-up or there are products out there that lighten the skin to reduce the appearance of those spots. These products work best in winter time because you are less likely to be in the sun as much. Always wear an SPF 15. You can get moisturizers with it and mineral make-up has SPF in it, not sure of %.
use a mild skin lightening soap and whitening cream, plus a high spf sunscreen to prevent further freckling and sun damage. :-)
Freckles are small tan spots of melanin on the skin of people with fair complexions. Make a smooth paste of oatmeal powder and yogurt, apply on the freckles and leave for 20 minutes and wash with cold water. Check out http://useinfo-freckles.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Toothpaste is a great one for drying the out, which gets rid of the redness, and, as it`s toothpaste, is a nice cheap remedyHow do i reduce the redness in my spots?
There is asprin, there is honey. Another one that I found to really help was whipping up egg whites until they are white and fluffy. You apply the to your face for twenty minutes or so and then rinse. It feels sorta weird, but it really helps.
i agree with the above. for about seven years i have been fighting a winning battle with my spots primarily with toothpaste. it always works! just do not ever use something chemically coloured like euthymol, as it totally stains your skin.
Please whatever you do, if you have sensitive skin especially, do not use an aspirin mask. i used it and the day after the area where my spots were was very red and irritated.

I recently began to break out on my face. I have pimples and dark spots coming in on my cheeks.?

I like the Neutrogena skin care line. Is there anything I can use by them to help my blackheads, blemishes and pimples?I recently began to break out on my face. I have pimples and dark spots coming in on my cheeks.?
Pimples are actually mini-skin-infections. Any anti-biotic will help with them.

Are the dark spots small, like blackheads? Are they freckles? Or are they dark patches? Blackheads are usually found on the nose, occasionally the forehead, but can arise on the cheeks. They indicate a clogged oil pore. There are strong tape products that lift blackheads. They can also be dissolved with a clean oil.

Avoid strong cleansers, as they can irritate the skin and cause it to produce more oil. Keep your hands away from your face, and watch out for your hair, too, since those are usually the source of the bacteria that cause pimples.

If the dark spots are freckles, the only solution is to avoid the sun. Wear sunscreen every day! And learn to like them, because if you have freckles, you'll never really be rid of them.

If, however, the dark spots are more like patches of darker skin, you need to be checked by a doctor. Sometimes dark patches can be a sign of serious illness, like Diabetes. Don't take chances with your health. If they're bigger than a freckle, see a doc!I recently began to break out on my face. I have pimples and dark spots coming in on my cheeks.?
Neutrogena is okay but nothing beats Proactiv like the person above me suggested. It will clear all of the blackheads and blemishes away.
you should check with your dermatologist and ask her about Proactive. it works great and I love it
    Proactiv worked wonders for me.
well let me tell u proactive works but theres a key u have to keep using it or ur skin will go bac to the way it use to but its up to u i use clean and clear jus apply on ur face and apply lotion so it dont look dry and go nothing to it

use a spot stick-something with tea tree and witch hazel.you may also want a spot cream, and a toner to get rid of oil.

if you get a spot overnight, try putting an ice cube on it to reduce the redness, then using a spot treatment.

theres a few gadgets out that can be used to treat spots, but they cost 拢100/$140 + so dont get them unless youre sure you need them.

visit a dermatologist or your doctor if youre still stuck, they can give you tips and recommend products.

Well, for the ones on your face, you should use a scrub, not just a gentle face wash.

The ones on the neck, you can use the same scrub, or just a body scrub, and literally scrub at it really hard for a while with a wash cloth or something. They'll come right off. I don't suggest being so harsh to your face though, it might just make it worse.

Smear honey on your face and leave it for as long as possible (but 5-10mins a day will do). then rinse off with tepid water mixed with a teaspoon of cider vinegar - this has a neutral pH and will act as a toner.

Has anyone tried Jergens natural glow daily moisturizer and got odd dark ORANGE spots?

Cause I did and this is the one product that says thats the last thing that will happen. I'm light skinned but get really tanned in the sun. I picked the Fair Skin Tone verion to use and got orangeish areas at my ankles and wrists. They kinda wash off but whats the deal with that?Has anyone tried Jergens natural glow daily moisturizer and got odd dark ORANGE spots?
I got that too...not so much orange, but some small darker spots that took longer to fade then the rest. It freaked me out a little, they looked like weird transparant freckles. It only seemed to happen the first time, then when I used it again ( i was slightly tan from a cruise)it seemed to work much better, it just kept my tan color fresh and was less noticable.Has anyone tried Jergens natural glow daily moisturizer and got odd dark ORANGE spots?
mix it in your hand before you apply it (don't forget to wash your hands after application). if it still happens, mix it with a few drops of baby lotion and then smooth it on.
Yea I tried it once and got all splotchy. My ankles and legs had orange streaks on them. I haven't used it since. I too am fair skinned, but have never tanned in my life. I thought that this would make me look darker but apparently not.
uneven dye in the mix? Maybe shake it up before using it?
I did after using it for awhile. It turned my tan to a orange glow. But it worked great at first.
Probably you didn't exfoliate correctly. The best way to apply it is to only do it every other day and make sure you lightly apply it to your ankles, feet and elbows. I always go back after I wash my hands( which I do after each leg or arm) make sure you dry hands off and take a damp washcloth and buff ankles, feet and elbows. I also leave a small bit on my upper thighs to wipe the backs of my hands so my hands are not so white. I will do it til I achieve the color I want then back off til it fades and then start over once I start looking pale again. The main thing is to make sure you get the dead skin off of your body before even starting cause thats where the color deposits the most.

Mederma or Vitamin E oil. I've been using Mederma for about two weeks on a scar I had from my belly ring, and it's significantly lighter (although it does take around two months to see best results). Eat healthy things, this might be hard, but is very important. It has to come from the inside remember ;)

And also clean it very well every morning and evening, and maybe still use that face wash of yours.

Also you can try and ask girls with similar skin as you how they keep the spots away. Or even ask salesman, they know what to do.

Although it's been proved that eating chocolate and fried foods doesn't cause pimples or acne, eating a healthy balanced diet sure helps preventing them.

Banana, Oats, Honey, Cucumber are the most commonly known skin savers.

Drinking lots of water helps keep oil under control and regulate the body. Trust me; it makes a huge difference.

Make sure to wash your face every night and morning (preferably with warm water as it helps open pores). Sometimes after work or school is a good idea too as the street is full of air pollution that your skin soaks up. Even missing a washing could mean waking up with 3 fresh ones in the morning.

If you're a regular pimple victim make sure you have suitable face wash for your skin. Don't go buying acne skin care after just a few breakouts. I bought proactive and got screamed at by my facialist because I basically fried my skin and only caused more problems with the strong chemicals from the product.

Excercise helps your skin breathe, and sweat naturally cleanses the skin (just make sure to wash afterwards).

If your skin gets oily during the day don't delay washing. If you're at work or school it's a good idea to buy Chinese Paper strips from the chemist or department store. They're expensive, but they work well and soak up all the oil on your face without water.

Moisturizor and toner are also important. Toner helps balance the oil in the skin. Finding the right moisturizer is hard to do, but it's worth the hunt. If your moisturizor is too oily it will probably clog your pores. If your moisturizor is too dry your skin will try to compinsate by providing more oil and SHOCK HORROR cause more pimples.

AND DON'T PICK AT YOUR PIMPLES.

If you have one in the middle of your chin just waiting to be popped wait till it gets that white/yellow end and wash your hands then go for it. Then put toothpaste or benzol peroxide on it. If bleeding occurs stop immediatly or you might scar your face.

    Over and out
I found that ';anti-spot'; face washes stripped away all the natural oils on my skin and my skin produced more oil and overcompensated. Now I use a facewash from here: www.beautynaturals.com which is natural and sodium laureth sulphate free and my skin has calmed down loads.

Also drink plenty of water and avoid eating a diet of solely sugar (diet doesn't play a factor unless your diet is really really bad). If you live in McDonalds, it isn't doing your skin any favours.

If all else fails, go to the docs. I was on antibiotics for years, which helped, but after a while they gave me this stuff called Roaccutane which is based on vitamin A and speeds up your cell renewal. It makes your skin very dry, but definately helps with spots (they'll only put you on it after you've done the antibios thing for quite a while, or if your spots are so bad it is causing scarring).
It's to do with yr diet, chocolate %26amp; fatty stuff cause the spots.

When I have spots I used (always) a medicated concealer. With this I am able to hide the spot %26amp; the medicine in the concealer heals it.

I found it hard to get these from Clearisil anymore, they used to make a fantastic one- all I can find now is made by Witch.

Ask whoever is on the counter for the medicated concealer, it's the best way.
All the creams and washes you are using are probably blocking your pores and making your skin more greasy thus leading to an increase of spots. Try to avoid to many sugary foods, and drink plenty of water and make sure u buy products that are suitable for your skin type. x
Wash ur face more often with cold water and plain soup and use ur hands, stay away from chocolates and fats, stay as far as you possible can from stress, coz the researchers have found out that stress is one of the reasons behind spots
toothpaste, if i ever get a spot i put toothpaste on it and it works a treat, i know u don't want to use creams but can i suggest sudocrem, i know its generally on babies but its gr8 for skin
If your a girl, stop wearing foundation for a while it blocks your pores,

If your a boy then just keep your face clean by washing every morning and night.
I've heard the natural remedy to spots is Lemon juice.
just keep washing your face m8
drink loads of water and eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg
Cut down on the burgers and fry-ups

sorry its hormones, you cannot stop them all together.

try drinking a lot of water, you will have a few spots to start and then the number of them will decrease over time, as water purifies the skin
I hear that soda is a prime suspect when it comes to pimples.

Mederma for scars. About 30 dollars at CVS.

http://www.mederma.com/I have scars and red spots all over my legs what are some homeremidies or creams i can get for them?
i have the same problem. moisturising them alot helps keep the skin nicely even and smooth. vitamin e cream is awesome for removing scars. try that =]

as for the ingrown hairs, wet a washcloth in hot water and hold it to your skin for a few minutes to open up the pores and soften the ingrown hairs as well as the skin its hidden in. with clean tweezers, gently pull the hair out of the pimple, but NOT out of the skin. use manicure scissors to cut the hair close to the skin, or leave it for a few days and shave/wax your legs as usual afterwards.

  • Does toothpaste really work for spots?

Also, how does it work, and how long does it take to work....Overnight?

xxxDoes toothpaste really work for spots?
It's supposed to make them look better by drying it out and getting rid of the stuff inside it. Usually, it just burns like friggin CRAZY!Does toothpaste really work for spots?
Only a toothpaste with TRICLOSAN in it is going to work, if any. It's an antibacterial put in the toothpaste to control the bacteria in your mouth and help prevent cavities... it theoretically also helps control the bacteria that make zits erupt and kills it so the zit goes away faster.

I'm not sure how long it takes to work... it's not really an A-1 go to method for keeping your skin clear. But it won't hurt to try it. USe it at bedtime and Try and use the plainest tothpaste you can find... and it should be PASTE not GEL, like the original colgate which I believe has triclosan in it. When you're shopping, look at the labels, it'll tell you in the ACTIVE ingredients int he triclosan is there.

    Good luck.
No, it's actually really bad for your skin.
yes it works it dries out your pimple and thats what you need for it to go away
no it doesn't but it is really good for pimples BUT it kind of hurts :)
Toothpaste does have properties that can dry out pimples quicker, however I don't think it is the best method to use. It is not specially formulated for you face so it can cause further irritation if you have sensitive skin. Try Bye Bye Blemish (sold in Rite Aid and CVS type drug stores - or online). I swear by it. It is the best overnight spot treatment ever!!!
It's supposed to dry them out helping them to go away quicker. It didn't work for me though, it just made it more inflamed. grrr
i use it if i have a spot which is not quiet deveolped but its bigger, then normal but you just dap it on the spot before bed and wash it off in the morning it just drys it up faster

    it works for me.

or for a more painless attempt,

I'd say visit a dermotologist, they have mask-peeling or skin

color altering treatments that will fade the spots away. spas

    offer similar treatments as well.
If by spots you mean dark discolorations, then you have hyper-pigmentation, which is very common in women of color. What you will need to do is a combination of exfoliate the surface skin cells to shed the darker layers, and lighten the area with ingredients like hydroquinone which is a proven skin lightener.

Some great product lines to try are Ambi, which has a newly formulated line including a very good face wash, moisturizer with lighteners and on the spot lightening gel. Another great product for a good skin peel is from L'Oreal and it's a whole kit. Philosophy also has a very good skin lightener that's very gentle to the skin and a skin peel as well.

Rodan and Fields (the doctors that also created the Proactive skincare line) also have a great three step kit for skin lightening which is a little more expensive than the drugstore kits, but very effective and also includes a sunscreen which is another very important factor to remember when making sure that the spots do not come back due to sun exposure.

Why are there dark spots on my knee's after i've fake tanned?

I use Le Tan 'Fast Tan' with a sponge on the end in bronze. On the back its says streaking and mess isn't meant to occur but it has! :(Why are there dark spots on my knee's after i've fake tanned?
I agree with everyone else. You must exfoliate before fake tanning, and go easy on the knees and elbows. Why are there dark spots on my knee's after i've fake tanned?
first of all, in the shower you need to shave, then exfoliate with an exfoliating glove. then dry yourself %26amp; wait 10 minutes so your pores aren't completely open, because the steam from your shower opens your pores more. then moisturize, then use the fake tan evenly, avoiding the knees %26amp; elbows, ankles, etc as they take more than other places. then once you've finished, wash your hands thoroughly, and in a few hours your tan will appear:)

don't worry if you don't get it right the first few times, coz practise makes perfect

    xo
use an exfoliant before you fake tan, it could be that you may have just gotten a bit more of the product on that area than anywhere else, which tends to happen on the knees and ankles because it is a little bit of an awkward spot to apply, and when you move etc it will adjust etc..

maybe try using a gradual tanning lotion instead.. it could be safer..
whenever you use fake tan, you need to make sure that you have exfoliated properly. if you don't there may be patches of dry skin that cannot absorb the fake tan properly, so it ends up patchy.
I have exactly the same product...it gives a pretty nice colour but I exfoliated first so I didnt get the dark knees...I got dark toes and ankles instead...lol......

Those areas are drier skin so they absorb more cream...I havent figured out how to lighten dark blothcy bits yet...maybe someone else knows.

Next time exfoliate with one of those gloves or a loofah first.
No matter what the back says you always need to exfoliate first, particularly knees, elbows, feet and hands

What are those white spots on your fingernails?

I've always heard it meant you don't have enough calcium in your diet. What are those white spots on your fingernails?
It means you are short in calcium. Get yourself some calcium tablets and also ensure that you take a glass of milk per day, eat sardines also and it will clear in about 2 weeks. What are those white spots on your fingernails?
The spots you notice are not caused by a calcium deficiency. They're called ';leukonychia'; and are very common. Most of the time the white spots simply are a sign of some past injury . By the time the white spot shows up (about six weeks after the injury) you've probably forgotten all about banging or knocking your fingers
If you are talking about the half moon shaped white areas on your nails they are called lunula and marks the area of the nail plate from which your nails 'grow out'.
    they are calcium deposits
i get them my mom says its lack of calcium
    bruises

You may have vitiligo. This is when you have loss of pigment or no pigment on some areas of your skin. Therefore, while the rest of your body will tan in the sun, these spots will only become visibly white and burn. It can be very dangerous - as we all know burning skin isn't a good thing! Skin cancer.. etc. You are supposed to avoid the sun, or apply sunblock/sunscreen with a high SPF! Apparently it goes away after about 5 years or so? It's crumby, but at least you'll have beautiful, unwrinkled skin (if you avoid the sun like you should)!
go to a dermatologist and get it checked out. It could be a dry patchy, most likely not a sun spot....
  • philosophy
  • I have got hormonal spots and acne will going on a sunbed help dry them up and get rid of them on a low basis?

If by saying hormonal spots you mean dark spots (hyperpigmentation), any type of tanning - from the sun OR tanning bed - will cause the dark spots or patches to get worse.

UV light from tanning beds can be benificial for acne, but the other side effects are much worse - wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and of course, cancer.

Urban Outfitters isn't very chic (correct spelling) nor creative, but I'm an old punk that had to work pretty hard at looking strange in the 80's.

Go to the Lab, supposedly the anti-mall, in Costa Mesa. It's filled with scene kids and lovely little trendy freaks. They've got shops (including an Urban Outfitters) and restaurants that you don't find on every street corner.

Since your clothing tastes run more mainstream alternative than Martian Church on 3rd St. in the East Village Arts District in Long Beach might or might not be something you would like.

    Both web sites are below.

try going to places around there like the other popular beach towns, they'd have good boutiques.

    How to prevent shaving spots?

Im more or less 16 and have some facial hair. I think it looks stupid on me at the moment and shave it, but get shaving spots. I have used after cream and after shave but they still come back and they sting. Some of the spots are big and red but most are spread out little whiteheads across the sides of my face. Best way to prevent/get rid of them? How to prevent shaving spots?
It is all about shaving it the right direction.

Neck shave up and face shave down.

Let these spots settle for a bit and do not panic soon they will be gone.

They sting and become inflamed as you are simply shaving in the wrong direction. Just leave them and they will soon settle down as long as you do leave them alone.

Good luck and eventually you will discover how your skin and face works as we are all different. How to prevent shaving spots?
The reason you get shaving spots is because hairs are getting trapped in the follicles underneath the skin, which in turn get infected and cause unsightly spots.

Idealy, you need to exfoliate before you shave. This will help to slough away the dead skin and help the hairs break through and out alot easier.

Use something like a cream based exfoliator, as sugar %26amp; salt based ones are far too abrasive for the face!

I would also recommend some form of razor relief after shaving; something containing aloe vera preferably, as this soothes, cools and calms iritated skin.

Exfoliating REALLY is the key here. Keep up with that and you'll notice an improvement in your skin.

    xx
erm well try treating th spots with this cream which is sold in al pharmaceys and is a lil exspensive but it lasts 4 yonks so it is well worth it

OK when u shave all of your facial hair and then comes the next time to shave, shave down instead of up, to not get the spots. also try using face lotion SPF20 by, Neutrogena. it soothes the razor irritation, and heals dry skin.

    Good Luck!
I know you're going to hate this answer, but theres a product for woman called bikini zone, for shaving bumps down south and it works wonders, I dont see why it wouldnt work on your face, obviously its made for sensitive areas!
Sounds like you're using a cheap razor too many times. Get a QUALITY razor, not disposables, and make sure you MASSAGE the foam info a WET face. Do not just slap it on and shave it off.

Afterwards, moisturise, and use a face scrub.
i would too love to know the answer to this becuase it does my nut in and i only have it down one side of my face :(
you skin is just sensitive it will get used to it eventually but moisturise and use a face scrub befoore shaving to raise the hairs
Try using a 4 blade razor and womens razors seem to work better, my ex husband would use mine and only use his if I ran out because they didn't hurt his face as bad.

make up!Help redness and spots on my face help?
lack of sleep or ur diet is off routine

so ur body is like ';WOAH!'; and it

    need is protine
You could have a skin condition called rocea in which case a doctor or chemist would advise. They would be the best people to advise anyway .
It could be due to stress. I wouldn't say lack of sleep is directly what's causing them, but I'm sure in some way it's affecting you.
that and water, bad diet will also cause it, oiliness of the skin and sometimes the sun can trigger this. if you are allergic to a food you ate this can cause it as well.
    its either no moisturizing ,

    your skin is too dry,

i have the same thing often.

it can also be lack of water in body ,

    dehydration.

and it can also happend due to sun exposure without enough sun protection.

and when i use mkaeup i get them too , like around my cheeks.

Comes with one lightener that is mixed with retin a to make it work better as well as a sunfader cream which helps lighten dark spots as well as keeping them from coming back. It is rather pricey, but if you do an internet search, you can usually find it cheaper than getting it from your dermatologist.

    Hi

I swear by th stuff its great and its totally natural too.

Its works cos its antibacterial and also helps dry the spot. You can use it on other stuff too like cuts etc to stop any germs.

I buy mine from superdrug as they sell it ready water down. Ready to use. Dont apply neat tea tree oil as its too strong.

You can also buy it there in sticks with like sponge applicators on the end actually for spot treatment.

    Hi hon

It does work and not only is it anti bacterial but anti fungal . It will cleanse, disinfect and dry out your spots.

You need to make sure that it is 100% pure and not the stuff used for oil burners. You can pick it up for anywhere from 拢2.00 to a round 拢5.00 but what ever you pay just remember its going to last forever as only a tiny drop is required.

Little tip don't get it near your eyes.x
There are many different sorts of Tea Tree oil and the one you should be using for your zits is called melanuclea altenafolia (it is spelled something like that and any good tea tree product will have that varient of tea tree listed on the ingredients list)
There's only one tea tree oil.

What do I use to get rid of scars/spots on my face from acne?

Invest $30 in a microdermabrasion kit. It will clear out the acne and gently get rid of the telltale scars it left behind. What do I use to get rid of scars/spots on my face from acne?
I will ask my daughter because she had this problem and she uses a spray on concealer makeup. It is terrific, but I can't remember the name. If I can't find the name, I think you should go to Macy's or your favorite department store and to go the make up counter. Maybe go to Lancome, Estee Lauder, Clarins, and ask them what they suggest. Have them do your makeup. And please don't use makeup from the local drug store. With your particular situation it is much better for your skin to use a good makeup. The other thing I should tell you is that my daughter went to a nutritionist who told her to eat balanced meals, a good breakfast everyday,(fruit, toast, scrambled egg) a decent lunch (yogurt, turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato, spinach, juice or water NO SODA eat lots of vegetables and salads, no chips, no fast food, less breads. Her complexion really cleared up after about 6 months of better eating. Exercise by walking 30 mins. everyday, and drink more water. We always remark that in order to have a good complexion you have to eat better and especially lots of green veggies, which she did diligently. Try it. P.S. email me at coronadofun@yahoo.com and I will give you the name of her makeup. What do I use to get rid of scars/spots on my face from acne?

Can you get your eyebrows waxed if you have spots on your forehead and in between the eyebrow?

If you have a few pimples in between your eyebrows then this shouldnt really be a problem as beauticians mostly work with the underneath of your eyebrow to shape them and remove excess hair. Im sure you may only have a few stray eyebrow hairs in between which they will use tweezers for therefore, not causing any irritaton to your skin. • What's an effective way to get rid of spots?

it depends how severe they are. If you have acne it may be worth going to see your doctor who can prescribe effective antibiotics. If you only have a few then i would suggest tea tree oil, you can buy it from your local health food outlet amongst the aromatherapy items. Just dab a diluted bit on the area before you go to bed. A good clay based face mask will all improve your skin. Use one of these every couple of weeks. I wouldnt suggest toothpaste, this dries out the area but if your not careful and you apply it to good skin, you can burn your skin and be left with scarring. What's an effective way to get rid of spots?
What i do when i get a spot and i can feel it coming up but it not at the surface yet, i boil the kettel, and once it done, i dip a face towl into a bowl full of the boiling water, and let it coll for a min, so it still pretty warm, Then i lie down and place the towl on my face and leave it for about 5 mins! It works most times! What's an effective way to get rid of spots?
put a few drops of tea tree oil in a sink of hot but not boiling water (don't want to burn your face lol) then wash your face in this, then rinse with cold water and leave your skin to dry naturally. if done morning and night daily, you should notice a significant difference like i did after about 2 weeks :)
Drink plenty of water and drink green tea with lemon. Then rub the wet teabag on your face, directly onto the zits, although if you wanted to use it all over your face that's good too because it is a brilliant toner.
get some clearasil cleanser and use it daily. but the best thing is, try and make your skin better in the first place, eat loads of fruit etc, don't smoke, take multivitamins. this is the best way!
you may not think it but toothpaste is very effective, don't rub it everywhere on your face just where the spot is, this has always worked for me
Your Doctor is the best person to see.
