Thanks!Does anyone know of a at home product that works for fading dark acne spots on African American skin?
there is a product called ';black opal'; they have an ';advanced dual complex fade gel'; it normally costs between $10-$15 usually you can find it in the black hair care section of some walmarts, walgreens, or black beauty supply stores. Make sure you get ';advanced dual complex fade gel'; it has 2% hydroquione and it is guaranteed to fade your dark spots on your face in 14 days, it works wonders i absolutely love this product they have a website at www.cherylburgess.com she is the african american doctor who formulated this product. I have had acne since i was 15 years old and i use a combination of proactive solution to control the acne and black opal to fade the blemishes. It works great for my skin type.Does anyone know of a at home product that works for fading dark acne spots on African American skin?

Hi, Have you been to your doctor about your skin. I have the same problem and have asked my doctor to refer me to a skin specialist now awaiting appointment but doc told me the problem is called molluscum thats difficult to treat. She agave me prescription for trimovate which I used for 10 days, it seems they were clearing but I need to see a skin specialist so they can do some test, it might be any allergy from anything, food especially.
As far as removing them that is hard and there are many products available on the market. To prevent them wear sunscreen. The spots are caused by a blemish that becomes dark because of the sun and happens to be very common in African- Americans. With that said it is very important that you do not use a home chemical peel. Because of the high amount of melanin in your skin the wrong pH balance and chemical grade % could cause a worse problem. Do you have access to a Dermatologist?
I know of a natural peel for the face that I use. I'm white and 15 so I just use it to exfoliate. You take either almond oil or olive oil, bc those don't clog pores. Then you take sugar and pour them into a small bowl. You want to still feel the texture of the sugar, but have it kinda diluted with the oil. You can add super hot water too. Bc that will open your pore so it will work even better. Or just use a self heating scrub first. Or- This is a homemade steamer. Stick your face over a boiling thingy of water on your stove. (Really works, no kidding!) The evaporating water will open the pores and then the scrub will even clean the pores out and exfoliate (take off the dead skin cells.) You will end up with soft, clean, flawless skin. Try it! Good luck with your wedding!
Either go buy this Estee Lauder set.

Or buy Visibly even wash and daily moisturizing. It has a spf of 15 which is even better. If you have to visit a dermatologist, and have him set you up with hydroquinone. Works fast and so lovely. My skin is even,my marks barely show. And won't appear at all soon. My skin is radiant and fresh looking. You gotta love it.

I'm not African American but my boyfriends little brother had bad acne and I remember him using cocoa butter and some kind of scar treatment because it was more powerful than a regular acne treatment. It seems to be working cause his skin is looking really nice. Hope this helps and congratulations on the wedding !!
